Breathe, 2, 3 4...and

Karyn Janelle Davis
And breath out, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
And In, 2 , 3, 4, 5

and the exercise continues.  My mind is finding it hard to do its normal busy-ness.   The count comes again...

and out, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

The tingles and sensations that run across my body feel beautiful and for a moment I'm lost in the stillness of being.

Those tranquil experiences vary rarely explained as words cheapen the process.
Since the emergence awareness and time the constant expanding and contracting of the breath has been in flow, whether a small bug or delicate butterfly or a find feathered friend of the air, any of our mammals that walk the earth.

Breath is a part of the process of life.

Does it raise our attention to learning of this fundamental aspect of life expressing?

Breath In, to the count of 6

and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

And out - the mind attempts to make sense again, wondering about the count, investigating a twitch, or itch or awareness in the body.

and out, 2, 3, 4,

it's those moments between the count the awaiting pause, the moment of forever now, the delicate dynamically still movement of contracting as air leaves the body.

Allowing....releasing...

5......6

the Mind "is the count getting longer?  or did I just disappear....I wonder where I go?  is that  non-local.....

And In, 2

PAUSE.

Do we recognise the dance of the mind and body?  The importance, the negligence, the vital, the futile nature of the paradox?

Oh, my friend - I giggle even when I write this, it is simply a part of the process.  It is us exploring us.

It is breath and life, it is part of the progress or regression or ever increasing awareness or disappearing into oblivion moments.

Any breath guide or yoga teacher, or coach or best friend or leader or colleague or peer knows, that the process of breathing or guided breathing simply brings enough of  pause in a point of view or perspective that someone is holding for a new experience to unfold.

....and the unfolding divine

Breath awareness and breathwork, a brilliant skill to have and there are so many types of breathing. A beautiful old and exquisitely studied practice of pranayama has explored breath in a magnitude of ways.

Breathwork has also become very common In mindfulness, transformational work, healing, balancing the ANS (Autonomic Nervous System) and body and mind practices.

Yet, everyday we the breath of life breaths us, whether we are conscious of it or not.  The profound expression of life happening within us and around us continually as we relate within our life.

Having the ability to lead others or to lead self when it comes to breath is exquisitely powerful.

Being led in breathwork is a wonderful trust process where we explore other ways of 'doing' a very natural process, that often takes us away from our normal.

Natural versus Normal - now that's something to consider.

Self First - Then Other

As with anything - to have the skills to work with our own state of being first.  Our own breath awareness, our own expansion, our own contractions, our own limitations, our own releases.  Well, They simply enable new possibilities again.

Then we are well equipped to begin learning about leading another being.

Where does it all start?

With practice,

It all starts and continues with practice.

This blog has in no way attempted to make a list of breathing techniques.  Only to remind us - that if you are on the breath awareness pathway, just like me, you will continue to experience multiple versions of;

Breath in, 2, 3, 4.....  (many blessings as you journey).

Perhaps this is the perfect place for you to share your breathing techniques and explorations with us?
